Jillian Gryzlak is a maker of costumes, ceramics, and installations. Working with a multitude of materials, her process is often one of discovery and intuition. Across Chicago, Jillian also works as an educator. Leading professional developments with classroom teachers to integrate arts within their teaching and with youth of all ages. Organizations Jillian has taught with include Urban Gateways, Redmoon’s Neighborhood Arts Program, and Chicago Arts in Partnership in Education. Jillian collaborates with theatres, organizations, and event companies such as The Gift Theatre, Cabinet of Curiosity, Adventure Stage Chicago, Elgin Community College as an artisan, installation artist, and costume designer. Recent installation sites include NeoCon and Lurie Children’s Hospital.
Jillian is happy to have been part of developing Messages of Hope and created a shrine dedicated to the magical collections of ordinary objects that children gather.
