About Joan Mathieu:
I was a photo journalist, entrepreneur and a casino dealer before I was exposed to woodturning. I attended several schools, one in Gatlinburg Tennessee and one in Ashville South Carolina, and have been fortunate to take lessons from one of the best woodturners in the Chicago area, Ed Szakonyi. I have been turning since 1997 and am still amazed and excited by the variety of wood and its design. I hope everyone enjoys these pieces as much as I enjoy making them.
